Fahes is Qatar's mandatory yearly vehicle test for private cars from their third year, and a pass comes before the Istimara renewal. A Fahes inspection Qatar drivers fail costs a second trip, a second queue and a delay to the renewal. Our Industrial Area garage checks the car against the Fahes points, fixes what would fail and, if you like, takes the car to the station for you. The Industrial Area Fahes station is 2 to 3 minutes from our workshop.
Last updated: 31 October 2026A private car takes the test every year once it is 3 years old, at the same time the registration is due. The date is on the Istimara.
Fahes charges QAR 150 for a private passenger car, paid by card.
The Istimara, a clear copy of both sides, or the Traffic Department's official documents for the car.
Wadi Al Banat, Mesaimeer and Al Wakra only take cars with a confirmed booking. The Industrial Area station is not one of them, and it is open Sunday to Thursday, 6:00 am to 5:45 pm.
It takes about 10 minutes for a car in good condition, so the fahes test Qatar cars face every year is quick when the car is ready.
An SMS goes to the registered mobile number. After a pass, the owner renews the insurance and then the registration on Metrash.
The Fahes inspection result arrives by SMS on the registered mobile number, with a link to a printable report. Bring the report or WhatsApp us a photo, and we fix the faults it lists.
Fahes runs a 30-day cycle from the first paid inspection. The first re-inspection is free. If that one fails too, the next is charged at the full rate, and after that one is paid and one is free within the same 30 days.
If the car has not passed within 30 days, Fahes starts again with a new full inspection and drops the earlier results.
Our check goes through the points Fahes lists in its own vehicle preparation guide, so nothing on the list surprises you in the lane:
You get a clear list of what passes, what would fail and what it costs to fix. Nothing is fixed without your approval.
A car under 3 years old skips the fahes car inspection Qatar requires every year after that. If you are buying a used car, a Fahes pass says nothing about its condition, and a pre-purchase car inspection covers what Fahes does not.
Most failures are small faults that cost little to fix before the test.
We put the car on a lift, test the brakes, tyres, lights, glass and steering, and run a computer scan. It takes 30 to 60 minutes, the check is free and you see the results before any work starts.
Bulbs, wipers, brake pads and small leaks are usually done the same day. Bigger jobs are quoted first: we supply and fit tyres, and a cracked windscreen is replaced in 1 day.
Drive to the station yourself, or we take the car for you from QAR 150, with no authorisation letter needed. We can also collect the car from your home.
After the pass, the owner renews the registration on Metrash. Our Istimara renewal assistance covers the car side of it.
You still pay the Fahes fee at the station, renew the insurance and complete the renewal on Metrash yourself.
The pre-Fahes check is free. Repairs are priced after the check, and nothing starts without your approval. For bigger repairs the written quotation is free. Repairs carry a workmanship warranty. Taking the car to Fahes for you costs from QAR 150, and our Istimara renewal assistance from QAR 150 adds the check and help with the renewal.
